The Clan of singers, poets, and overall drama-queens who never seem to be able to keep their mouths shut for any amount of time longer than a breath takes so that they can keep going. It’s rare that anyone minds that though, as what comes out is always worth listening to. To make the dark world of the Cauldron a little brighter, DesertClan turns to sonnets and spinning yarn, generations of cats sharing tall-tales and dramatic comedies. DesertClan revels in theatrics and having fun, taking a light-hearted approach to the world. They prefer to make peace and not war, pacifistic in nature, though easily manipulated due to their passion for storytelling and willing, listening ears. Hungry to hear stories just as much as tell them, DesertClanners will believe most anything that is told to them. They have a whimsical view of things, seeing beauty and complexity in things that do not necessarily have it.
This is not to say they are an honest Clan or one that values the truth, however, as every good story involves a fair bit of lying and exaggeration. Malicious lying and boasting for the sake of ego is another matter, however. DesertClan takes a hedonistic approach to life, believing self-satisfaction to be the true purpose in one's life. They’re here for a good time, not a long time, and while reckless fun isn't promoted, a life of mediocrity spent without joy is one of the greatest sins one could commit in their community.
DesertClanners believe any event is worthy of celebration regardless of how seemingly insignificant, so even small accomplishments are revered, while mistakes are seen only as temporary delays to the next party. Disputes with other Clans are often started by misinterpreting their hedonism to be a lackadaisical flaw, but they stand very defensive over their lifestyle of self contentment, this Clan of theatrical sybarites will fiercely protect the culture they’ve crafted over countless generations in the pursuit of making their perilous lives worth living.
