Audition Notice: Tracks

By: Peter Tarsi

Brief summary: Tracks is a dramatic one act that focuses on a large group of dead individuals, waiting for a train that may be going to heaven or hell. This show mixes multiple character personalities with morally questioning content. With this diverse cast it mixes an element of morals with a fast paced show.

Character Descriptions

The Homeless Girl: Afraid and unsure, this character can’t handle the concept of dying and moving on, must be able to lash out and stay reserved at the same thing

The Old Man: Tired, this role needs to be easy going and rough around the edges, with few lines this role needs to pull attention from other more powerful roles

The Lawyer: Single and driven, this role needs to be strong and not pushy what so ever, accusatory in every line with a snake like sting on all lines.

The Professor: Friendly and confident, this role has to have a friendly exterior and almost see through personality.

The Nun: Calm and collected, talks almost monotone but if done wrong this role can make the show drag. Makes their lines forward and meaningful.

The Businesswoman: Caring and motherly, this role needs to be caring and stern. Motherly inflection on their voice and actions

The Businessman: Worried and sheepish, this role is concerned with his views and his morals. Lines aren’t quiet but hesitant and a contrast from The Buisnesswoman

The High School Girl: Independent and witty, this role needs to be indepoendant and a sort of rock for The High School Boy, but still caring for him

The High School Boy: Contrast from his girlfriend he is a procrastinator and leans/clings to his girlfriend throughout

The Waitress: Hardworking and investigative, she wants to make sure that the tracks are the right side, southern accent and hard exterior.
