General

What many players try to conveniently ignore, is that it's not your turn in disadvantage. Your goal should be to return to neutral first, getting a reversal comes second. Therefore you should rather try to gain distance rather than reduce it. Also take note what got you into this spot in the first place.

And another thing: rule number 1 is to not panic buffer an option. You should always make a conscious decision based on the situation. Otherwise be prepared to stay in disadvantage.

Mashing jump

Your double jump is your most important mixup option when recovering to ledge. Without it, your recovery timing and path become extremely linear.

When in doubt you should save your double jump and use your other options first instead. With your double jump, you can make it back from almost anywhere.

Tanking Hits

Sometimes Terry just needs to take the hits as the heavy boi that he is.

This gives you enough time to think about the choices that brought you in this situation.

Just make sure you still DI/SDI correctly (usually out and away) so that you can get out earlier. Also keep an eye out for escape opportunities.

Cornered

Nothing too special here, wait for an opening to slip past your opponent or get a hit using one of Terry's burst options like CS or dash attack. The key is to keep track on what your opponent tries to cover. IDJ can help reaching platforms to escape.
