Auto Turnaround

Terry will automatically turn to the opponent whenever he is in a neutral position and there is only 1 opponent.

He will not auto turn while in shield, but will auto turn when shield drop is cancelled by jumping or up smash.

Auto turn will also apply with spot dodge attack and cancels.

Command Inputs

Terry can perform his special attacks using a command input like Ryu and Ken.

Doing so will increase the damage dealt by 20% and add additional attributes.

Inputs are stored in a 10 frame buffer for normal specials and 20 frames for super specials.

Hitlag and shield lag frames will extend this buffer, allowing for more time on hit.

For CS and BK you must not return your control stick to neutral position between inputs or it will not register.

  • cPD: Gains iframes during the rising part, chPD also gains a spike hitbox towards the end. Adds a blue particle effect

  • cBK: Gains iframes on the arm during the first active frames, hitboxes are slightly bigger and the sourspot starts slightly later. Adds a green particle effect.

  • cRT: Gains full body iframes at the start, goes higher, gains more and faster multihits. Adds a blue flashing effect.

  • cCS: Adds a spark on startup, particle effect is more visible. Adds extra shield damage at the last hitbox for chCS

Light and Heavy Specials

Terry has a light and a heavy version for his specials.

Tapping the B (or A button for command specials) will result in the weak version, while holding it will input the strong version.

Using the grab button for command specials will always give the weak version.

Refer to the Using Specials section for detailed differences between the versions.

Charge Partitioning

Terry needs to hold a down input for at least 24 frames to perform the command version of his up special. Charge partitioning is a mechanic that allows you to continue your charge where you left off, if you return your control stick to a downwards position within 10 frames. This can be used to keep charging between dashes for example. However you can no longer charge partition once you reach the required 24 frames.

Special Cancels

Another trait shared with Ken and Ryu. Terry can cancel certain moves into any of his specials.

This allows him to offset their startup by comboing them out of his faster and generally safer normal

Terry can cancel any of theses moves into any Special on hit:

  • Jab 1 & 2

  • All tilts

  • neutral air, down air, up air

For the more casual players, Terry can also cancel Specials into his final smash including the first hit of BW

Go

Terry gains access to Power Geyser and Buster Wolf, two very powerful but risky specials, upon reaching 100% damage.

These can only be performed using their command input while being grounded.

Input priority

If your current input buffer satisfies multiple command inputs, the special with the higher priority will come out.

BW > PG > cRT > cPD > cBK > cCS

BW and PG will prefer the direction of your opponent when grounded and your initial forward direction when started airborne.

This means that if you an "S" input (2646 or 2464), you will always PG towards the opponent.
