Michelle Crivello - Dance Director/Choreographer

Michelle Crivello started her career at Castillero Middle School in 1991, where she was the Artist in Residence-Dance Choreographer for two years. In 1993, she created and established the Dance Department at Castillero and has been with the program teaching students ever since. She truly loves the passion, committment, dedication, and talent of the students she has taught. The Castillero Dance Community and parents have been a joy to work with, and she looks forward to sharing her passion for dance each and every day. 

Mrs. Crivello has trained in the styles of tap, jazz, ballet, modern dance, and musical theater. She received her Bachelor of Theater Arts degree from San Jose State University, with a major emphasis in Dance and a minor emphasis in Musical Theater. She received her teaching credential from the University of California Extension, Santa Cruz. She also received her CLAD Certificate from the University of San Diego and her Certificate of No Child Left Behind from San Jose Unified School District. While at San Jose State University, she was honored as a Dean's Scholar, a Golden Key Honors Society member, Alumni Scholarship Recipient, and a resident member of the University Dance Theater. During her time at San Jose State, she received many honors including the awards for the Best Jazz Dancer and Best All Around Dancer given by the University. She was also awarded the prestigious "Best Undergraduate Dancer in the State of California Award" by the National Dance Association.
