The Castillero Dance Department is renowned throughout San Jose and beyond for its high level of performance excellence. Our dance department provides one of the most comprehensive middle school programs in San Jose, offering instruction for the beginner to the advanced performer. We are dedicated to the development of all students and helping them reach their highest potential. Mission Statement

The Dance Department at Castillero is dedicated to bringing out the best in our students, striving for excellence through instruction and competition, and fostering a sense of pride and achievement for their middle school years and beyond.

Understanding Competition Results

There are different ratings within each category and placement level. For instance, a category could be women's dance where a placement level is typically first, second, third, etcetera. A dance could take first place, but within that level, there are rankings that the students can achieve:

1. Superior

2. Excellent

3. Good

4. Fair

5. Festival
