Dance Courses

All dance courses provide students with a foundation in the fundamentals of jazz, ballet, and creative dance. As students advance, they learn modern dance and other styles such as contemporary, lyrical, Broadway, hip hop, Bollywood, and cultural. Challenged both physically and mentally, students gain flexibility, strength and coordination through increasingly difficult steps, performance skills, confidence, and professionalism. All students perform for their class and the school. All classes also participate in performances such as the Winter Concert, Dance & Dessert Showcase, A Rising Star Showcase, Castillero student rally, and Spring Concert.  More Advanced classes also perform for the community at Elective Preview Night, and/or in local competitions and LA Dance Festival/Disneyland Trip. Grades 6-8: Semester class for students with little or no dance experience.

Intermediate Dance – 005314/5 INT DNC 6-8 LK

Grades 6-8: Designed for students to continue to build upon a strong dance foundation.

Advanced Intermediate Dance – 005316/7 INT ADV DNC 6-8 LK

Grades 6-8: Students continue to improve upon their strong dance foundation while focusing more on performing.

Advanced Dance – 005318/9 ADV DNC 6-8 LK

Grades 6-8: Students perfect their strong dance foundation, learning more dance styles and continuing a focus on performing.
