Intermediate Dance

Intermediate Dance (005314/5 INT DNC 6-8 LK) is for grades 6 -8 and is for students to continue to build upon a strong dance foundation. The focus is on more advanced turns, jumps, and combinations in the areas of jazz, ballet and creative dance with an introduction to modern/lyrical dance included. Each student choreographs a solo and group dance. Special units such as health and costuming are incorporated into weekly lesson plans.

• Performances: Winter concert and annual dance concert; participation in performances is part of class grades.

• Prerequisites: Audition tryout is required, unless the student has been in beginning dance. The basic fundamentals of both jazz and ballet already known.
