Welcome to Cartier Senior Citizens Support Committee

Hello To Everyone,

As the chairperson of the Cartier Senior Citizens Support Committee, (incorporated 1989), I would like to welcome you to our website, and thank you for taking the time to check out our organization. If you have been involved with our services, you are well aware of the supports that we provide to the 55+ population in the rural municipalities of Cartier, St. Francois Xavier, and the town of Fannystelle. If you are new to the area, or if you are looking for support for a family member, this website will explain the various programs that we provide.

As an organization, our mission statement is to provide services that will allow our senior population to remain independent and in their own homes for as long as possible. We do this with the assistance of the Southern Health-Sante Sud Regional Health Authority, who provide us with annual funding to hire the staff that provide the resources, the meals, and the individual assistance to seniors. We also provide services with the help of the many volunteers who step forward, with most of our volunteers being younger seniors themselves.

As an individual I believe that it takes a whole village to raise a child. Likewise, I believe that it takes a whole village to support our senior population, keeping them safe in their own homes for as long as possible. It is very important both socially and emotionally for seniors to have the freedom to associate with people their own age, to participate in the activities they want, and to be able to carry on the activities of daily living independently as they continue on their life journey.

I am hopeful that this website provides you with the necessary information to support a senior in some way. Thank you, and stay healthy.

Regards,
Linda Lyons
