Typical Week at Camp
Sunday- We have a staff meeting at 11am to prepare for the incoming campers. Campers arrive around 2pm. Staff meet their campers, play name games, and go over a basic orientation to camp. After dinner we have an opening campfire where staff introduce themselves and teach songs.
Monday- Campers participate in various activities depending on their programs (When campers sign up for camp, the register for a specific program. Programs are based around activities). In the evenings everyone comes together for a big camp wide game or activity, such as song wars or a carnival.
Tuesday- Campers participate in more activities. Tuesday is a common day for programs to go on off camp trips such as canoeing or caving.
Wednesday- Campers participate in more activities. In the evening, instead of having dinner in the dining hall, programs cook their meal over a campfire.
Thursday- Campers participate in more activities. In the evening, after dinner, we have a closing campfire ceremony. For the closing campfire ceremony, campers perform a song or skit about their week at camp.
Friday- Campers participate in some final activities and pack to go home. Depending on schedules we may have another camp wide game or activity. Campers have an early dinner of pizza around 3pm, and they start leaving to go home around 4pm. Staff clean up camp. Once camp is clean we have a brief staff meeting, and then staff are dismissed for the weekend around 7pm.
Saturday- Day off for staff, we usually have at least one van that will go into town so that staff are able to get off camp.
Weekend Shifts
We have four weekends where we have campers on camp. All staff (except for Kitchen/Facilities and Commuters) will work a shift one of those weekends. Staff will have a say in what weekend and what shift they work, staff hired late may have less options. The week before or the week after, staff will have an extra night off to make up for the weekend shfit.
