About Camp May Flather
Camp May Flather is located in Mt Solon, Virginia, just inside the George Washington National Forest. The closest towns are Bridgewater and Staunton. Camp May Flather is a Girl Scout camp and part of the Girl Scout Nation's Capital Council. The camp serves campers ages 9 to 17 who come for one or two week programs, that focus on high adventure. All campers participate in swimming, climbing tower, archery, low rope challenge course, and arts & crafts. Additionally depending on campers age and program, campers may go caving, canoeing, rafting, backpacking, and do natural rock climbing. Camp May Flather is a camp with rich history. The camp was started in 1930 and has operated every summer, except 1949 (flood) and 2020 (COVID 19). Campers participate in flag ceremonies, campfires, skits, and lots of singing. In summer 2025 we'll be celebrating the 95th anniversary of Camp May Flather.
At Camp May Flather campers have a chance to grow by trying new things and gaining confidence. Camp is a place where campers can be themselves and make new friends.
