The first instrument that I bought - it is the one that goes between your legs !
This one has a broken bakelite bezel under the RAF blue/grey outer ring which means the parallel north south bars are no longer attached at one end and the rotation is a bit dodgy. I will 3D print a replacement when I get round to changing this.
WARNING ! The bars and the compass pointer are covered in Radium paint which is radioactive and has a half life over 1600 years, so despite being 70 years old you do not want to be breathing in the dust ! So you must take precautions when working on it.
The modifications here are simple enough. Add a single server motor and possibly gearing to rotate the indicator. So having a design in my head for the engineering required in that solution I have moved on to the next one.
