Looking at various panel drawings, and panel photographs, the Boost Gauge may have come in 2 different sizes, the more common 2.55" gauge and also an earlier larger 3.75" gauge. I can find no pictures of a larger boost gauge, but plenty of panel drawings showing the larger cutout and some panel photographs showing the use of a conversion plate from the large to the smaller instrument.
29 Jun 19 - I now have a working 3D printed prototype model of the Boost Gauge. But some further work is still needed before publishing it.
I need to change the design to an X.27 motor rather than a 24BYJ - But for now you can see both in the model.
I have photoshopped a dial face from one of the instrument photographs that I found online. A Mark IX can have either a 20lb or a 24lb gauge.
