Christmas 2018 I bought myself an ANet A8 3D printer for £99 to use in generating the mounting brackets I need when modifying the original WW2 Instruments for the Spitfire Cockpit. This has proved to be quite successful during 2019.
Have a look at the ANet build page to see how I got on with the Assembly and there is also an ANet Upgrades page to show which upgrades I originally planned, which ones I actually went ahead with and why I dropped others. Finally there is an ANet hints and tips page for documenting the lessons that I have learnt along the way!
September 2019 Update: Over the winter I have decided to quieten down the printer by giving it a ANet SKR & TMC Rebuild.
BigTreeTech SKR V1.3 32-bit ARM Motherboard
BigTreeTech 2.4″ TFT Display
Trinamix TMC2208 Stepper Drivers
Marlin 2.0.x Firmware
November 2019 – First pass on the upgrade is complete and the printer is now working again. It is wonderfully quiet and can no longer be heard from the other rooms in the house. I have some more fiddling to do, to finesse the print quality and increase the speed; but it is probably time to concentrate on the Spitfire Instruments for a few months.
