Please review the following instructions carefully to complete your Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) application.
Application Deadline
Apply immediately after you have read and understood all the information provided.
Important: You must live in Brampton or Mississauga to apply for VSS in Peel Region.
Steps to Apply
1.Prepare your documents
Please have the following ready:
Two (2) valid pieces of identification (e.g., passport, Ontario Photo Card, driver’s licence, etc.)

2. Apply online
Complete your application using the Peel Regional Police online portal: https://rec-check.peelpolice.ca/
3.Important notes about the online application process
To request a police record check online, please ensure you understand the following:
Online identity verification: Peel Regional Police uses Equifax to confirm identity. You may be asked questions related to your credit history. Your personal credit information is not revealed to or stored by Peel Regional Police.
If you do not pass the Electronic Identity Verification, you may still complete your request; however, you will be required to appear in person at a Brampton or Mississauga location within 30 days, with two pieces of photo ID and your online request number.
If you do not have credit history, you may be required to have your identity confirmed in person each time you apply.
Two-step login each time: For added security, login requires a one-time code sent to your email each time you sign in.
Each application is separate: You must re-enter your information for each application. Information is not saved for future applications.
Complete in one session: For security purposes, you must complete the application in one sitting. If you exit before submitting, you may need to restart from the beginning.
4.Pay the fee
Fee: $35 CAD
VSS Waiver (Students Under 18)
If you are 17 years old or younger and unable to apply at this time, you may request a VSS Waiver.

As soon as you turn 18, you will be required to apply for a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
VSS Letter (If Requested)
If Toronto Police Services requests a placement/organization letter, please email clinicalrequirements@senecapolytechnic.ca

Program
Postal code
Brief explanation of your request
💡 IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Incorrect answers to authentication questions may delay your application.
Monitor your email and respond promptly to any police requests.
Delays in applying may affect your eligibility for clinical placement.
Your VSS validity starts from the issue date, not the application date.
