Diplomacy and International Communication in English

This has undoubtedly been a school year to remember, as we all struggled to adapt our lessons and connect with our students through online learning. But the Diplomacy community has become stronger through enhanced support, creativity, and flexibility.

Diplomacy Professional Learning Community

Diplomacy teachers have adapted to online teaching with determination and creativity. They have been supported since August with monthly online sessions on subjects such as Online Tools, Using New Product Rubrics, and Holding Online Simulations. These sessions have been popular and have succeeded in helping teachers feel connected and supported.

Students Meet Diplomats

During the days of lockdown and the coronavirus pandemic, the Diplomacy major strengthened its ties with Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with several foreign embassies, most notably the American Embassy. The MFA and the American Embassy have provided us with an endless supply of knowledgeable and inspirational guest speakers on enriching topics relevant to our curriculum and to what is happening in our world. The meetings have seen a large turnout, with registration closing at the maximum 500 participants. We will certainly continue virtual meetings in the future, which have made our world smaller and more accessible.

Summit Days - ימי שיא

Summit Days are a very important element of Diplomacy and International Communications in English. They give students in the major opportunities to come together with other Diplomacy students from schools around the country to put into practice in authentic settings skills they have learned in the classroom, such as active learning, experiencing new cultures, conversational and public speaking, and much more. Students report that the Diplomacy Summit Days have been some of the most meaningful and memorable learning opportunities they have experienced in their school careers. This year, all Diplomacy summit days took place online. Click here to read more about some of the summit days which took place in the second semester.
