In January 2021,180 6th grade pupils entered The Corona Times Writing Competition, and 30 winners were awarded certificates at an online award ceremony in March during Chemed Week. Many more pupils from elementary schools participated in this writing project. All participants’ work can be viewed on the Corona Times website. Watch this space for the topic of next year’s writing project and competition.
English Days
Additionally, over 200 schools have held English Days at their schools on the theme of We are Brothers during the months of May and June. Photos and video clips can be viewed on the We are Brothers website.
Dedicated teachers attended Coffee Time zoom sessions in professional development, where they learnt about up to the minute ideas and teaching strategies. These enjoyable and informative sessions will continue into the next academic year. Save these dates for Coffee Time sessions throughout 2021/2, kicking off with a Mini Conference on Wednesday 29th September 2021 - כ"ג תשרי תשפ"ב (אסרו חג). Due to the success of Chemed English Day this year, we are hoping for even more Chemed schools to participate in next year's English Day on 16/5/22 - ט"ו באייר תשפ"ב.
