As we welcome the new school year I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the year that has passed. And what a year it has been. The computer screen became our friends and we tried to sing as much as possible with the pupils and the teachers. I am constantly meeting teachers who are only too happy to share what they are doing with music, song and digital tools in the classroom. I encourage you all to share so that we can all benefit from the wonderful ideas and experiences that are happening in the field. Thanks for the positive feedback you hand out for our weekly Whatsapp and mail updates. From the north to south teachers are singing with their pupils.
This was clear in the E-Talent contest. It was our first year and it is now an annual event. Children from all over the country took part and performed, sang, chanted, acted and more. It was delightful to see and very hard to judge. Well done to all the winners.
Next year we plan to expand to older age groups. During the lockdown we ran several Zoom sing-a-longs so that pupils could sing along as Howie Gordon played familiar tunes on the guitar. Once the restrictions were lifted, we rushed out to schools to “learn in tune” with children and teachers around the country.

We have exciting things happening next year which include a mass singing of a song for elementary pupils, teachers singing together, school visits and talent competitions.
