Messaging to get a phone number (purpose is to get the number, not explain cutco yet)
Hi ___! I hope you're doing well. I have a quick question for you but it's a little long to explain in a message. Can you send me your phone # so I can call you quick? (Just realized I didn't have it)
If they ask "what's it for?" - "It's for my new job and I can earn a scholarship / get professional work experience and I thought you'd be nice enough to help me out!"
DO NOT SAY "Are you interested"!!!
Hey Marty. This is ________________. I am _______________'s (optional mention how you know them) and I am attending the (school). The company that I'm working for (offers scholarships to help me pay for school)/OR (helps me get real world professional business experience.) My assignment is to book appointments with people to show a product called Cutco and get their opinion on it. You don't have to get anything, I get paid just to show it. In order to stay on track for my scholarship/goals, I need to do 10 appointments per week. It's fun and easy and takes less than an hour. Every appointment I do will help me gain more confidence.
What day this week would work best for you? It would really help me out! I look forward to hearing back from you!

Hey Susie!! I am Amy Solomon's daughter and I am attending the Niagara University as a pre-med student. The company that I'm working for (offers scholarships to help me pay for school) /OR (is helping me get professional business experience.) My assignment is to set up appointments with people to show some kitchen products and get their opinion on it. You don't have to get anything, I get credit just to show it. If I can hit my appointment goal, I’ll be able to (cover most of my semester expenses and even have a chance to win a scholarship) OR (really set myself up for the future). The appointment is fun, easy, and fast. Can I please call you to see if you can help? What's your phone # and the best time to reach you?
It would really help me out! Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing back from you! ☺

Hi Mrs. Frank!
I hope this message finds you doing well and staying safe this summer! I know it has been a while since you've heard from me, but I am currently a junior at University at Buffalo studying biochemistry and molecular biology with the goal of pursuing a career in biomedical engineering. I am also playing soccer and softball for the school and would not be where I am today without the foundation you helped to build. I wanted to email you and let you know that I have been working with a great new company to gain some communication skills and build my resume. I also have a few opportunities to win scholarships for school based on my performance, so I am working very hard to accomplish that!
My job is to put on a quick presentation to demonstrate some products and get your opinion on it. We represent a company called CUTCO, which is very well known for their kitchen cutlery, but also makes high quality gardening tools, baking supplies, and outdoor tools. It is all done virtually over zoom, so it is pretty simple and straightforward. Also, there is absolutely no obligation for you to buy anything from me because I get paid just to show it to you. Although if you are interested in anything, I would gladly help you to get the best deal possible.
We just started the largest competition of the summer campaign and I have set my goals pretty high, so I was hoping that I could schedule an appointment with you sometime this week. If you could email me back or text me at (xxx) xxx-xxxx and at least let me know that you got my email, that would be fantastic! Even if you are not interested in listening to my presentation, I would love to catch up with you. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Sincerely,
Michael Scott

Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to meeting all of your really nice friends! (Btw, I hope you love your new Cutco!!! Make sure to take some pictures of it when you get it!)
