This year we’re going to have a special fundraiser at Bubb Elementary and we need your help! We’re going to have a schoolwide Read-a-thon for two weeks as a way to raise funds to support Bubb Elementary and to encourage the entire Bubb community to have fun reading. We’re challenging all Bubb students to read 20 minutes a day and have friends, family and community members sponsor all of our readers. Just track your child's minutes on the reading log each day (sent home in folders, you can download a new one here. You can also submit your reading logs to: bubbreads@gmail.com by December 20th to be counted.
Any reading activity will count including:
Reading a book alone
Being read to
Reading together with your adults or siblings
Any reading done in class
There will be Zoom Community Reading times that you can join that will count towards your minutes (look for announcements). And there will also be many videos of community members and parents reading that will count for the read-a-thon. And you can even make your own video reading a book if you like! Create an account at: https://bubbreadathon.goalstarter.org/ so your family and friends can support you. They can sponsor you by the minute (each 20 minutes is an “increment”) or they can support you a flat amount. You can email your personal page to anybody to support your reading!
Yes! There will be prizes for:
Anybody to participates
Anybody who meets reading goals per grade
Top readers in each class and top classes
Raffle for top 10% fundraisers
if the entire school meets the school goal of 2000 hours!
