Culinary Showcase
Theme: While there is no specific theme, participants are encouraged to get creative and showcase their favorite recipes or culinary creations.
Dish Guidelines: Dishes can be sweet or savory and may include appetizers, main courses, desserts, or snacks. The dish should be prepared at home, and delivered to the MUR between 5:30-6PM on the date of the show so volunteers can set up the culinary showcase. The dish should include a label with the name of the dish and the chef's name. Consider including allergen information, eg. gluten-free, contains nuts, etc.
Portion Size and Serving: Participants should portion out the dish into small or bite-size servings that can be easily sampled by attendees. Toothpicks and napkins will be provided.
Parent Volunteer Commitment: At least one parent of each participant will be expected to volunteer in some way (eg. set up, managing tables, clean-up, etc.). Sign-up opportunities will be available shortly. Your support is essential in making this event a success!
Emcee: A Special Act
We're looking 1-3 fifth graders to act as emcees for the show. As the official hosts of the evening, you'll make this event a success with your positive energy, comedic timing and wit. You will welcome the audience to the show, introduce each act, dismiss the audience for intermission and to enjoy the culinary showcase, and thank the audience and performers at the end. You will get to preview the acts, then collaborate to write the script that excites the crowd for each act.
