A specific set of international gestures can be useful to enhance the communication between tourists and the people from the country they are visiting. This can be expanded to other instances of commerce involving people from different BRICS countries, specially at a grass-roots level.
Previous Experience (school activity after learning lesson 2):
To establish a specific set of concepts that can be used in touristic activities, and to prepare a group of standard sentences including these concepts.
With help of the online Dictionaries, the YoGoTe signs corresponding to these ideas can be identified.
Publication of these signs (and the corresponding international gestures, recorded in videos) would allow touristic agents from the BRICS countries to offer an additional service for the foreign visitors: The possibility of basic understanding with help of these common signs.
The idea can be expanded to shops and local commerce, which could hang a shield explaining that international gestures are understood, thus attracting the foreign visitors who already know these signs.
A school activity called Global Market can be helpful to understand how this concept could work. In this case, the children had studied previously Lesson 2 in several languages:
Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, English, Swahili, Arabic, Indonesian, Korean, Turkish, Wolof
