YoGoTe signs can be used to develop a set of lessons for the introduction to any foreign language.
The learner has to look at the video for a certain sentence in his/her own language, looking at the gestures that represent the main ideas. After repeating the sentence doing the same gestures with the hands, the next step is to switch to the same sentence in the new language. The gestures are the same again (possibly in a different order). Repeating the speech in the new language with the gestures , the meaning of the sentence is highlighted, and it is easier to remember.
When trying to express something in the new language, the gestures will be helpful to recover the words without having to do an internal translation previous to speaking.
To produce a set of language lessons in the languages spoken in the BRICS countries (witha a possible ampliation to BRICS+ languages).
These lessons would be recorded in video by voluntary native speakuers, making the international festures at the same time.
The resulting videos would be posted online. Every person from a BRICS country could access the resulting site, selecting two languages: Language A (which should be natural for this person) and Language B (a foreign language which he/she wants to know to an initial level). A selection tool would allow to progress through the different sentences and lessons, presentde always with two matched videos, in languages A and B. An example can be seen here.
After the introductory lessons with a general purpose, other lessons coub be produced for specific fields: Tourism, Commerce, Health, Youth, Sports, Health, Politics, Cooperation, Agriculture, etc.
