The 9th Meeting of BRICS Education Ministers chaired by China was held via videoconference. The agenda of the event included the provision of quality education within the framework of digital transformation, sustainable development of the common educational space through the interstate association, as well as strengthening cooperation in additional vocational education of the five countries, as reported on the official website of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation
Following the event, the Deputy Minister for Science and Higher Education noted Russia's readiness to take an active part in education development within BRICS, including the overall BRICS Network University.
"We are pleased to note the countries' decision to designate the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia as the coordinating university. This opportunity will facilitate the development of priority areas within the BRICS Network University, which will enable students to acquire new competencies and respond quickly to changes in the economy and labour market," Natalia Bocharova stressed.
