Ashley is an undergraduate physics major at Texas Tech University, where she serves as President of the Women in Physics student organization and Vice President of the Society of Physics Students. She conducts molecular simulations of phospholipid bilayers under Dr. Bolmatov, using CHARMM-GUI and GROMACS to study cellular membrane structure and stability.
She plans to attend several conferences this year, including the Southwest Association of American Physicists in Medicine (SWAAPM) in February, the Undergraduate Research Conference (URC) at Texas Tech in April, and the Texas Section of the American Physical Society (TSAPS) in October. She also intends to present her research at the URC, TSAPS, and the departmental poster competition.
She has received multiple travel grants and departmental scholarships in recognition of her work. She expects to graduate in May 2027 and plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Medical Physics.
