Prof. Maxim Lavrentovich is a theoretical biophysicist trained at premier institutions, including Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania. Following his work at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, he joined Worcester State University in Massachusetts, where he serves as an Assistant Professor. We have maintained a long-standing collaboration for almost a decade, investigating out-of-equilibrium processes in soft matter systems, with a particular emphasis on lipid bilayers. Our joint research explores electrically induced membrane phenomena, nonlinear dynamics, and history-dependent responses, revealing how collective molecular organization gives rise to adaptive and memory-like behavior in biological membranes.Â
