Christmas Tree Care
Christmas Tree Care
SHOWCASING AND CARING FOR YOUR TREE
1. Until you are ready to put your tree up, keep your fresh cut tree in a cool shaded place away from sun and wind.
2. For a fresh cut tree to keep looking great, we recommend that for anymore than 2-3 hours of time from the tree cutting (including travel time from the farm site to your home), be sure to cut off another half inch to an inch of the trunk before placing the tree in the stand with water. A fresh cut tree may drink roughly up to a gallon of water the first day so apply plenty of water.
3. Water your tree daily, DON’T let it run dry.
4. Close any heat vents blowing directly onto the tree and keep the tree away from any fireplace, stove heat or other heat source.
5. AVOID extended direct sunlight exposure time to the tree.
6. DON’T leave tree lights on while sleeping or while you are away from home. If you do use lights on the tree, smaller type bulbs are recommended and make sure that the lights/wiring are in good condition. Be careful not to overload your electrical system.
7. After you are finished with your tree, please be sure to check into recycling it, possibly through your local conservation and/or outdoors related agency. Check out MDC recommendations shown below.
