Reading seminar: Sh900 and Sh950

We (a joint group of model theory students at Notre Dame University and Universidad Nacional de Colombia) are organizing a reading seminar. Our intention is to read together some Shelah papers: Dependent Theories and the Generic Pair Conjecture (Sh900) and Dependent Dreams: Recounting Types (Sh950). The first paper gives us a syntactic approximation to the Generic Pair Conjecture and the second one gives us a semantic approximation to the same topic.

If you are interested, we invite you to join us. We will meet on Tuesdays from 15:15 to 16:30 eastern time (EST) (14:15 to 15:30 in Bogotá). We will sometimes spend a bit more or less time depending on the topic, we plan to work until 17:00 Eastern at the latest.

We will begin next Tuesday August 27th and plan to go until December 10th. The first goal of the reading group in this first stage is to understand sections 1 and 2 of Sh900: Non-splitting Constructions and the Type Decomposition Theorem. To do this, we plan to use some of the attached documents. We will begin by giving an informal introduction to the two papers and we will decide the speakers of some meetings.

We will be happy if you can join us in this project. If you are interested, you can join us in this link or use the following information:
