User data security is an extremely important subject, especially for an Application specializing in personal security. The Bodyguard, Virtual Defender Application protects user data security in the following ways.
1. User Account Security.
2. User Account Data Security.
3. User Payment Security.
User Account Security
The Bodyguard, Virtual Defender Application account relies on Google Gmail account security to safeguard client data. There is no separate password or other credentials required for the Application. Gmail account authentication is handled entirely by Google.
Still, the Application does handle some sensitive user information, such as personal identification details, as well as some financial information used for subscription payments. This data is protected by the Application through encryption.
User Account Data Security
The main method utilized by the Bodyguard Application to protect data integrity is data encryption. All human-readable textual data is encrypted using industry standard strong encryption techniques, specifically, AES with 256-bit block and key lengths. The contents of all data fields, as stored in the cloud, are further obfuscated by using fictitious tag names (nondescript short strings of digits) for the field names themselves.
These two security strategies combine to maximize data security and data privacy protection.
Suppose, for example, that in an unlikely event, an attacker is able to breach the cloud server defenses, or an employee of the cloud service provider somehow gains unauthorized access to a user database. In either case, the intruder will not be able to make any use of this data, because not only the data itself will appear to them as complete gibberish, but there is also no clue as to what that gibberish even represents.
As already mentioned before, all sensitive user information is treated this way by the Bodyguard Application.
User data is encrypted on the device at the time of creation, and it remains encrypted whether it stays on the device or is transmitted over the network to the cloud provider. Additionally, use of encrypted network protocols is also standard when sending anything over the internet.
User Payment Security
