EDC ORLANDO REVIEW
EDC, I have three words for you:
TOO. MANY. PEOPLE.
holy fuck. The hurricane actually was a blessing for shutting down the airport because Friday was a vibe. I haven’t seen it that empty in a fat minute.
I thought maybe, maybe it’ll be like that all weekend. Of course I was wrong.
Saturday was a fucking shit show cluster fuck of people. I don’t understand how the fuck you expect anyone to enjoy themselves or what you set up for them with that many people.
Sunday was a little better but still TOO many people.
You degrade the festival when you oversell it. You take away from the experience.
If you want that many people there, GET A BIGGER VENUE OR OPEN UP THE STADIUM. DO SOMETHING????
LOL this festival is such a shit show but I’ll give credit where credit is due:
They do a phenomenal job with the decorations. There really is a lot to look at and see. The different areas are super nice, and the lights are great. There is a lot of areas for people to vibe out and hang.
The little ceremonies they have in between sets at Kinetic are so cool, the drones are insane and the fireworks are always beautiful.
The lights are great, everything was really pretty on the production side of things.
They spread the artists out pretty nicely as well. Everyone I saw was fire. The lineup was pretty good in my opinion.
However:
The stages this year were WEAK expect Kinetic Field. There was NOTHING at circuit grounds. The stage was a big rectangle. I did like it, but I felt there should have been more to it. I miss when they had the screens go all the way around. That was badass.
I liked Neon Gardens concept, but the area was so fucking small. You couldn’t get NEAR John Summit. Granted, it’s John summit but still, I liked the tent waaaay better.
Sterobloom was cool, I enjoy that stage a lot, it’s always a nice set up but wow the amount of people over there was crazy and it wasn’t that loud. I wasn’t at those stages a whole lot so idk if they got better or stayed like that. The sound was weak all the way around, everywhere was weak and circuit grounds had NO bass. Wtf?
Trying not to have sound bleeds = time for a bigger fucking venue.
They pushed the vendors back even more into a corner LOL. I mean you couldn’t find them unless you went looking and they were in that stupid “vendors village” again. Bro.
GA+ is not worth it. The “GA+ line” wasn’t even separate and no one was checking at the gate if you were GA+ or not.
The bathrooms are still a shit show they are just the stadium bathrooms and the GA bathrooms are right with them so it’s a cluster fuck of people. Friday the bathrooms were great. Saturday was HORRIBLE and Sunday was okay. The one nice GA+ bathrooms they have are over at the front right of kinetic field and they weren’t letting everyone in, only one at a time LOL. This was nice bc it regulated it, but it was a CLUSTER of people slamming into this one girl controlling everyone. What. The. Fuck. They are also advertising ALL their festivals and events on the bathroom doors again LOL
I didn’t see enough medics walking around for the amount of fucked up people there. This is my biggest problem with EDCO is that the majority of people there is not there for the culture or the music. They are there to get fucked up. The crowd is the RUDEST people I’ve ever seen, slamming into you, pushing you, no excuse me, no I’m sorry, taking a train of 20 people into the front like WHERE ARE YOU GOING???????????
I don’t even care if you go for the music or not, but respect the rave culture. Would you go to another country and disrespect the culture? I would hope not.
I will admit and do believe there is some great energy at edc. That’s why I keep going back. It really brings me to my roots and feels like home even tho I regret being there once I enter LOL. I learned a lot and I let a lot go.
I did encounter a lot of cool people but not as much as I would at a camping fest and that’s what it really comes down to. It’s a city fest and I’m spoiled by the camping fests.
The lockers were very cool, it’s nice to have somewhere to put stuff if you want.
The phone stealing was insane as usual. They found someone w 150 phones with them. I know that was light work.
Ground Control is amazing and is such an awesome concept. They are essential.
Apparently End Overdose was there? I didn’t see a booth or anything sooooo hm.
The food wasn’t good, they gave me a burger on a piece of sliced bread and it was falling apart lol. Expensive as well. That was Day 1 LOL
I bought one drink and it was 21 dollars for a SINGLE SKYY (what the fuck) and Red Bull. Gross.
I will say moving the VIP entrance near the bathrooms was SO smart and moving the food to the left side of circuit grounds was BIG BRAINS. give that person a raise.
My friend said VIP isn’t worth it, another friend said it was. I’ve yet to do that.
There should have been restrooms near neon garden. There was like nothing over there.
Water refill stations were great bc there was alot of them, still crowded but the circuit grounds stations were never a long line.
Parking was easy, I parked near Colburn and walked and got out fast, but I also left early. If you don’t it takes FOREVER.
No metal detectors at security was weird. There is alot of different people that go and they should definitely have metal detectors. Sketch. They did have cops walking around so that was cool.
I like the concept of the oasis. It’s a nice place for people who are fucked up but don’t need medics.
This is now ANOTHER festival that is usually cold that was hot except Sunday. Sunday was really nice out. (The earth is dying. What the fuck are we doing?!?)
Overall, of course I still had fun, I really try to be transparent and not let a lot of the shit ruin my time. The sets were great and I enjoyed being with my friends and seeing a bunch of people I know. I really just wished they wouldn’t have that many people there. It’s overwhelming.
I appreciate all the people that came up to me and said they couldn’t wait to read my review LOL thank you for that!
Thanks for reading! My next festival isn’t till Okee!
