Blakesley & Woodend Defib Group

The Blakesley and Woodend Defib group was formed in 2014 with the initial intention of funding the installation and maintenance of a defibrillator for the village.

Since then we have expanded our scope to provide additional wellbeing initiatives for the community. Our current project is the installation of a village garden at the playing field, along with planting of over 6,000 bulbs throughout the village.

You can donate money to the group at any time, all funds are used for the maintenance of the Defibrillator and the village amenities we have funded.

Our bank details for donations are below:

Progress with the Village Garden!

Just an update on where we are with the garden plans.

We have moved the location slightly to get a bigger area for the garden. The plan is now to put the garden to the right of the gate as you enter the playing field. Our volunteer team have been out in force over the past week and have dug over the bed and added manure, ready for planting.

It's also not too late to donate, thanks to everyone who has donated so far!

If you would be happy to sponsor the cost of a rose, please complete this form and transfer £30 (or more if you are able) to the following account:

Sort Code: 55-70-06

Reference: please put your name as the reference so I can keep track of who has donated

Alternatively you can send a cheque / cash to the above account name to 20 Old School Lane, Blakesley.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks

Kate

Defibrillator Launch

In 2014, a fund raising drive was held to get an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) situated in Blakesley. This was successful and at the end of 2014, William Sitwell officially "opened" the defibrillator. The defibrillator is situated on the wall of Browns of Blakesley, just near the right hand window as you look at the shop.

All Blakesley residents have been issued with key fobs which have the code on to open the cabinet, and magnets which have instructions on what to do in the case of an emergency. If you do not have a magnet or key fob, please contact Vicky Norman or Kate Nash
