Cochran School
1897-1966
On August 11, 1950, the Cochran School, Ives Creek School, and the Bradbury School joined together to form a district that provided modern facilities and a first class education.
“The children of the community attend two lovely schools, the Cochran School for the white children, and the Union Center School for the Negro children. The Cochran School is a beautiful modernistic brick building, and provides attractive facilities for the 70 scholastics attending in1956. The school was annexed by Bellville ISD June 15, 1965 and closed for the 1970-1971 school year.
