The test is designed to identify areas of difficulty in language for infants and toddlers who may have language impairments and/or other disabilities that affect language development. It specifically focuses on assessing receptive and expressive aspects of language. The test is given in an interview format to the parent/caregiver of the child. The SLP administers the test by asking specific yes or no questions that the caregiver will answer regarding their child's receptive or expressive language. The SLP fills out the response of the caregiver in the response booklet.
