Special Events

Melissa has been a PRIDE member since the 2nd grade. She loves to dance and perform. She has a positive attitude and is always willing to learn new things. You will never see her without a smile on her face. I have seen Melissa grow so much over the years. This past year, Melissa has really developed into a leader for the kids in our program. She is our Torch Club President, responsible for many tasks including planning special events, working the Dojo store, helping with snack & dinner and anything else the staff may need. Outside of Torch Club, she is also the captain of our cheer team. She is a quick learner and is a natural at dancing so she helps the younger kids learn their routines. This year, I have seen Melissa go outside of her comfort zone and try new things. She joined our basketball team and even though she was the smallest one on the team, I have seen her work extra hard to earn the respect of her teammates. I am so proud to call her Meairs Youth of the Year.
