Developing a Floral Design unit plan at Norris Public Schools, I demonstrated my ability to create a purposeful and engaging curriculum that connects standards to real classroom application. This curriculum emphasizes practical, industry-connected learning while also building transferable employability skills. Students strengthen skills such as communication, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving through daily activities and projects. These skills are intentionally woven into the structure of the unit, rather than taught in isolation, allowing students to practice them in meaningful contexts. Through developing a Floral Design unit plan at Norris Public Schools, I demonstrated my ability to create a purposeful and engaging curriculum that connects standards to real classroom application.
Students engage in interactive and applied learning experiences, including designing arrangements for specific purposes, working through design challenges, and participating in peer feedback. They are encouraged to think critically about their work, make adjustments, and explain their design decisions. By connecting classroom learning to real-world expectations, students gain both technical experience in floral design and confidence in their ability to apply these skills beyond the classroom.
