My experiences in a variety of school settings have allowed me to demonstrate growth in ACTE Standard 4: Instructional Delivery. Through opportunities such as Husker High School Week at Freeman High School, Big School Day at Lincoln Northeast High School, and my student teaching placement at Norris High School, I have been able to observe and apply a wide range of instructional strategies that support effective teaching in CTE classrooms.
Each experience exposed me to different approaches to delivering content. At Freeman, I saw how strong relationships and hands-on activities can increase student engagement in a smaller classroom setting. At Lincoln Northeast, I observed strategies for managing and delivering instruction to larger and more diverse groups of students while maintaining engagement and structure. At Norris, I have actively applied these strategies by teaching lessons, adapting instruction in real time, and using a variety of methods to meet student needs.
These experiences have helped me understand the importance of flexibility in instructional delivery. I have learned to adjust my teaching style based on the content, classroom environment, and individual student needs, incorporating strategies such as hands-on learning, discussion, and interactive activities to keep students engaged. This growth demonstrates my ability to deliver effective and adaptable instruction. By learning from multiple classrooms and applying those strategies in my own teaching, I am better prepared to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that support success for all learners.
