Greetings! My name is Bethany, but my favorite people call me Miss K.
I grew up in a small northern Michigan town surrounded by many lakes. I graduated from Michigan State University in 2016, where I earned a degree in Elementary Education. I worked for two years in Southern California, as a 2nd-grade teacher at Jurupa Unified School District. However, I returned to my Michigan roots and became a teacher in the central Michigan area at Ionia Public Schools. I started at Boyce Elementary in 1st grade and then moved up to teach 5th grade after two years. When I am not teaching or lesson planning, I fill my time with reading, hanging out with my dog Luna, and traveling around the world.

My Dad was a high school teacher, which allowed our family to travel the country during the summer. We road-tripped and explored the lower 48 states, which was where my love of travel was born. In college, I traveled to my 49th state, Alaska, through a Study Away program. I have continued to explore the world and have been able to visit ten countries. I spent two summers in Galway, Ireland studying with Michigan State's Overseas Masters of Arts in Educational Technology Program. My travels have allowed me to view the world in another light and truly appreciate this beautiful planet.
