- The dogs are naturally reactive to anything that they hear or see. There’s no specific time of when will they bark for as long as they have a reason to do so. There’s nothing who can stop t hem not even food sometimes. But in those times that a dog barks, do you perhaps know what might be the reason why it barks? Here in our community, dogs seems like they are always having a night party because of the noises they never failed to make, most of the night. Little did I know that some of those activities meant something in the perspective of or elders, that when the dogs make loud noises, especially those elongated moans (howl) around 12 midnight while the surroundings are dark, our elders believe that it wasn’t just a simple so called “Dog’s night out party” instead it was actually means that they see or sense spirits and creatures that are free to roam around at night and humans can’t see. That’s when realizations hits me, howling dogs aren’t just meant to scare someone but for yogad people, it is a reminder that the love ones that we lost are just be roaming around.
