The Bristol Renaissance faire
At the Bristol Renaissance Faire, I was a performer/educator for the 2019 summer season. While there, I was in the Guild of St. Michael (GSM), one of the Faire’s two historically accurate guilds/casts. In GSM, I was a part of Bristol’s military guild/militia, so I received training in the usage of 16th century European weaponry and armor. Given that the guild/cast was based in historical accuracy and education, I also taught guests about the weapons and armor and performed on a stage with the more seasoned members of the cast, who taught guests about everything from 16th century military strategy to renaissance-era medicine. Additionally, I helped create costumes for the faire by sewing with other cast members.
