Introduction

I would show Initiative, Confidence, Resilience, Knowledge, Mindfulness, Responsibility and Support. Those are the acts I do between now and the time I start my chosen career. I try my best to apply in Automotive Engineering as there are applicants still at their door. Commitment to Teamwork would make me stand out more, Efficient teamwork. It would set me apart from other applicants. I could give them examples of what I had accomplished in the past and relate them to what I can achieve in the future. One main good thing I could do to set me apart from the others is arrive early, not too early but early. Giving in Research about the company could show good man qualities showing you are keen for the job/ very interested.


What is involved in my chosen career in automotive mechanics?

Being/ Becoming an Automotive Mechanic includes commitment and dedication, initiative and responsibility. It involves using your minds and creativity. This job involves fixing, repairing and all sorts of things you can fix and repair.


An auto mechanic, in general, replaces, rotates, or repairs tires, replaces or repairs old brake pads or wheel bearings, changes oil, performs tune-ups, and completes inspections. They usually work full-time and, on occasion, weekends as well as overtime. They are usually hired by private companies or work for themselves.


Automotive technicians may do some or all of the following: service vehicles and change lubricants (such as oil), coolants (such as radiator coolant) and filters. repair and replace faulty parts. road test vehicles to check repairs. carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance. fit accessories like stereos and alarms.


What qualifications do i need?

Driver’s license is only required for different positions in being a mechanic. But a driver's license is not really required as a mechanic. The importance of a Driver’s license is key for any other job. Being a Mechanic isn’t required. But having a Driver's license can cause higher standards and qualities towards yourself.


Completion of an appropriate qualification and an apprenticeship with a qualified Mechanic are both required. A Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, for example, is required to become a trained Motor Mechanic (AUR30612). In most cases, an apprenticeship lasts three to four years.


Qualifications include the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Automotive Electrical and Mechanical Engineering), the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Automotive Heavy Engineering), and the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Vehicle Servicing). The qualifications are registered at Level 3 or 4 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework.


At least three years of secondary education is useful for entry to these qualifications, with a good standard in English and mathematics. MITO also offers StartUp® to secondary school students; this allows them to achieve the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Foundation Skills) Level 1.


What skills and knowledge do I need to gain through those qualifications?

Gaining Problem-solving for Repairing, Communication for an Apprenticeship, A real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid. You learn by communicating with them, gaining confidence.


Problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail are all talents that auto technicians must master. Although mechanics are not required to have a tertiary education, many finish non-degree training courses at a technical school. Dexterity is required for auto mechanics to execute their tasks.


What are employers looking for in hiring people for this career?

Employees usually prefer you to have a Qualification and a full driver’s license. It's just a good standard. Employees need you to pull out the car and pull back in. They want you to be useful. Show how proplem solving you are. They want you to arrive early/ on time, its your responsibility that is what their looking for show initiative.


Ability to work in a team structure. Ability to make decisions and solve problems. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work. Ability to obtain and process information.


Critical Thinking. Employees must be able to assess evidence, question assumptions, test hypotheses, observe, and draw conclusions from a variety of data sources. Critical thinking is more than a talent; it is a habit developed to aid in problem solving.


Teamwork is necessary for jobs all across the spectrum. From construction work to marketing, nursing to acting, teamwork and collaboration is a vital part to keeping the organization or company running smoothly.


What are the qualities that i need to be successful in this career?

Customer Service skills. You need customer service skills in case you have to cover someone. If you're fixing someone's car, have a little chat with them about the car. Customer Service could improve your feed/ report. And a Customer might give you some great feedback to your boss you never know.


Finding an excellent car mechanic might be challenging (if you haven't previously discovered Pro Auto Care!). We recognise that entrusting a stranger with your car is a difficult task, and there is a degree of comfort and confidence that you must have with your auto technician in order to have a positive working relationship.


However, there are several characteristics that serve as a wonderful sign of a trustworthy, skilled, and all-around superb auto mechanic. Here are four examples.

How do I develop these qualifications and skills? What can I do? Study, Start a Training Course, Start UNI, Get a Job. Experience Cars, Fixing Cars and Repairing. Be better than before. Leadership. All sorts of benefits. Becoming an automotive mechanic there are no specific requirements to become a mechanic. But you need work experience and be at least an NCEA level 1 or 2.


Conclusion

Being a mechanic takes a lot of skill and time. I am actually thinking about becoming a mechanic or a builder. Being an Automotive Mechanic on my record could get me through lots of jobs. I would highly recommend this career. “Do not be embarrassed by your failures. Learn from them and start again.”
