Inquiry #3

Intro

New Zealand should be part of Australia. On average about 2. 6 million people traveled between the two countries in 2017, this is over half the population of New Zealand. This makes us ask the question: would New Zealand become a better country combined with Australia?

Australia has a higher population than New Zealand. Australia has 24 million people And New Zealand has 4.9 million people. New Zealand has a large population for a small country, and it is the world's 2nd safest country. Australia has a small population for a big country, and is not on the global safest countries in the world. NZ and AUS could have a great military service with the amount of people they have if they we’re together.

Thesis: Why do people think New Zealand should be a part of Australia?

New Zealand should be part of Australia, Because of the many ways of benefiting both countries such as rugby, more area and space to live for those that don't have home and more. New Zealand and Australia used to be close in the 1800. In 1840 our connection grew closer for a few months.

Both countries live close to each other. They both have almost identical flags. New Zealand and Australia live under the queen, so they both have the same cross on their flags. Also NZ has helped AUS with the bushfires they had in 2019. The bushfires in AUS have caused many deaths, so people in NZ decided to help AUS. As the NZ firefighters walk in the hallways of the airport people have been cheering them on.

What is the cultural difference between Australia and New zealand?

New Zealand and Australia have brought us to our nutritional differences in culture between the two countries, The both Maoris and aboriginal people war dances. New Zealand's cultural animals are the Kiwis and the Australian cultural animals are Kangaroos. New Zealand and Australia both celebrate the queen’s birthday so there isn’t a difference between the two countries.

Australians celebrate each July, because of the history between Aboriginal people and Torres Strait islander people. Because of the culture and achievements of Aboriginal people and Torres Strait people. It doesn’t just celebrate Indigenous communities, they celebrate by Australians walks from life.

New Zealand celebrates Waitangi Day, for the respect of the chief of the Iwis and the British chief, who signed the treaty of waitangi. For a truce between the war against us two countries.

What is the political difference between Australia and New Zealand?

New Zealand’s Prime Minister is a female and Australia’s prime minister is a male.If they were to combine they would need a government to hold the two countries together. Australia and New Zealand have the same law, drive on the left hand side.

Australians are not allowed to have mullets, and it goes around the whole country. New Zealand’s laws are 18 and over vape free policy, over thousands of underaged kids in New Zealand are vaping in schools and after.

Without no laws there could be people killing and not getting arrested. Even if the laws in Australia or New Zealand’s are different and could be better, it’s good that both countries have good laws and good ways.

What would be the benefits for New Zealand being a part of Australia?

Our research of our PMI has brought us to the conclusion why New Zealand and Australia should be together. New Zealand has beautiful mountains, the moari language and interesting cultural celebrations.

Australia has huge city’s and beautiful parks and huge shopping malls. You could learn the aboriginals language and the Torres Strait islanders.

New Zealand and Australia should be together because there will be more space to live and the population of Australia will increase by a lot. But there would have to be a load of roadways between the two countries.

But with a large population and if New Zealand and Australia were to become one country, there would be higher chances of COVID hitting NZ and the whole country. NZ is Covid-19 free for now, but if they were combined it could get hectic. COVID-19 could come across our country in seconds combined with Australia.

Conclusion: What would be the benefits for Australia being a part of New Zealand?

It would be great having a bigger country for New Zealand but stating that it would be unlikely to join the federation with Australia at its foundation but it would be interesting to at a later date.

Being one of the safest countries and possibly combining with Australia would give an opportunity for the immigrants that have no homes to live in New Zealand because of all the free space.

In conclusion it would be beneficial for both countries to combine but Benji and I think that it would be interesting and exciting to have a larger country, being noticed and what would the country be called?
