Meet Nicolette

Nicolette Contella has dedicated over 15 years to the Belmar Junior Lifeguards, where her journey began as a junior lifeguard and flourished into roles as a coach and director. Under the mentorship of Erica Coviello, the program's director for over 20 years, Nicolette honed her skills and passion for the lifeguarding community.

In 2022, Nicolette took on a pivotal role by developing the official Belmar Junior Lifeguard Curriculum. Her commitment to excellence is evident in her ongoing efforts to revise and enhance the curriculum each year, ensuring the program remains dynamic and effective. As the program's director, she manages all coordination, communication, and structure.

Beyond her involvement in the program, Nicolette finds joy in mentoring coaches and junior lifeguards. She actively engages in discussions aimed at improving all Monmouth County programs, reflecting her dedication to fostering a supportive and thriving lifeguarding community.

Outside the world of lifeguarding, Nicolette pursues another impactful career as a speech-language pathologist. She frequently pulls from speech therapy principles to create an organized and effective program. Balancing her roles, she brings a unique blend of leadership, mentorship, and expertise to the program.
