What is behavior management? 

Behavior management is a crucial component of creating a classroom environment conducive for academic learning. Although behavior management can present itself in a variety of ways, the overall goal remains the same. Educators use behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and discourage negative behaviors in their classrooms. Implementing a successful behavior management strategy in the classroom, gives educators the opportunity to focus on promoting student learning. Harry K. Wong in the article "The Well Managed Classroom" states, “classroom management refers to all of the things that a teacher does to organize students’ space, time, and materials so that learning can take place. This management includes fostering student involvement, cooperation, in all class activities, and establishing a productive working environment” (Harry, 1998, pg. 1).

• This activity aligns with TLMS Domain II (2a) by completing research-based  notes that help inform teaching practices, engaging with materials to build participants' knowledge and apply evidence-based information to their teaching practice.
