During this PLM, the following standards will be addressed.
The Teacher Leader Model Standards (TLMS) and the Standards for Professional Learning (SPL) were chosen because they both emphasize creating a supportive and collaborative professional environment where teachers continuously learn and improve their practice. The PLM aligns with these standards by promoting research-based behavior management strategies that motivate and encourage beginning teachers to build positive, structured classroom environments. Specific standards from both were selected for direct alignment to the activities found throughout the learning module.
The Teacher Leader Model Standards (TLMS) were created to support and encourage growth for educators. The Leadership Exploratory Consortium (2022), a group of diverse educators defined the standards as "how teacher leadership can be distinguished from, but work [collectively] with, administrative leadership roles to support quality teaching and enhance student learning" (para 1). TLMS comprises seven domains that outline teacher leadership.

Outlining critical criteria for professional development, the Standards for Professional Learning (SPL) aim to ensure that educators’ experiences lead to better teaching strategies and improved student performance (Learning Forward, 2022). The SPL focus on the development of learning communities, leadership resources, data, learning designs, implementations, and outcomes.
