Tonisha holds a Bachelor degree in Integrated Education from Mars Hill University (2014). She also holds a Masters of Education in Elementary Education from Mars Hill University (2017). Tonisha has been a certified Elementary Educator for six years and has worked as the curriculum specialist for an early learning center. Tonisha is also a current doctoral candidate in Curriculum and Instruction with Gardner-Webb University.
Tonisha’s research interests include parent advocacy for students at the elementary level as well as expanding her research on the achievement deficit for marginalized students at the elementary level.

Cambridge holds a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education from Clemson University (2019). He also holds a Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning from Clemson University (2021). Cambridge has been a certified Elementary Educator (2-6) for six years in both South and North Carolina; specializing in English Language Arts. Cambridge is also a current doctoral candidate in Curriculum and Instruction with Gardner-Webb University.
Cambridge's research interests include student engagement strategies especially in the elementary and middle school age groups, and evaluating educator retention with an emphasis on employees of color.

Margaret holds a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from Western Carolina University (2015). She also holds a Masters of Education in Elementary Education from UNC Charlotte (2019). Margaret has been a NC certified Elementary Educator (K-6) for nine years. Margaret is also a current doctoral candidate in Curriculum and Instruction with Gardner-Webb University.
Margaret's research interests include the effectiveness of incorporating movement breaks during instructional time to improving reading fluency performance in an elementary classroom.

DESCRIPTION
Behavior Basics: Empowering New Educators, is a professional learning module (PLM) intended to shape behavior and ignite success. This learning module is geared towards beginning teachers looking to strengthen their classroom management by reflecting on research-based strategies highlighted in this module. Upon completion of the professional learning module (PLM), beginning teachers will have the necessary skills to implement a behavior management system that best fits their individualized classroom needs. As you navigate through this PLM, the purpose is for beginning teachers to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to implement a successful behavioral management plan.; as well as to foster a positive classroom environment.
