Initial Thoughts

Using the following questions and your guided notes sheet, reflect and write on what behavior management looks like in your classroom.

1. Are you currently using a behavior management plan in your classroom? Is it working, why or why not?

2. What specific positive behaviors do you want to encourage in your classroom?

3. What specific negative behaviors do you want to address in your classroom?

4. How can you consider the individual needs of your students when implementing a new behavior management plan?

5. What incentives will motivate your students to display positive behaviors in your classroom?

6. What consequences will your students respond to in order to combat negative behaviors in your classroom?

• This activity is aligned to TLMS Domain III (3b), Domain IV (4f), and Domain VII (7b). The questions participants will answer look to encourage reflective thinking for continuous improvement in their current practices and ultimately look to facilitate improvement in instructional practice and student learning.
