LEVEL UP!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

FAN-PLEDGE FUNDRAISER

THANK YOU for all your help collecting emails and phone numbers of your child's biggest fans! Our fundraiser will be sending out weekly emails (4 total) for potential donations through the emails you provided. We greatly appreciate your help in keeping our band program thriving! Monies generated from this fundraiser will help fund our end of the year celebration, band clinicians, sheet music purchases, private lessons, and any activities we do throughout the year!

BOOKFAIR

Band students will have the opportunity to visit the book fair on Thursday, October 7th. Please send money with your child that day if you'd like for them to shop around for a new read! Only students with money will be allowed to go to the book fair, as our combined classes are very large for the small space.

PRACTICE

Please encourage your student to take their instruments home daily and practice at home at least 5 times a week. Consistent practice is directly linked to success in music. Students are currently learning their first notes, articulation, deep breathing, air speed, and other skills that require individual practice time. We are excited to announce that you will be hearing short songs very soon!

PARENT VOLUNTEERS

Would you like to volunteer as a chaperone or helping hand for band events? Please fill out the WSISD Volunteer application so the district can review and approve you for future events. Future events include our trip to NRH20 and our end of the year celebration. https://www.wsisd.com/apps/pages/volunteer

BREWER BAND BOOSTERS

Want to be involved in our Brewer Band Program? You should become a Fightin’ Bear Band Booster Member today and invite your friends and family to do so as well. The membership fee is only $5 and not due until September 30th! https://fightinbearband.com/membership/

The next Band Booster meeting will be September 9th at 7pm in the Brewer High School Cafeteria. The meeting is open to everyone - you do not have to be a paid member to attend the meeting. There are various ways to volunteer as a band booster such as High School varsity concession stands, preparing snacks for the marching band, and helping in other hospitality opportunities. Please contact Liana Wester if you have any questions or would like to help!

Private Lessons

Private lessons are a great way to provide one-on-one instruction that does not happen in the typical band class. These lessons are taught by highly certified instructors who are professionals on your child's instrument! Private lessons are a great way to speed up the learning process and target specific skills for your child!

Lessons are $18.00-$20.00 each for a half hour/half class period. Students may also sign up for a buddy lesson, 2 students in the same band class will take a lesson at the same time for half price.

Private lessons are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
