Require the students to install the proctoring tools.
There are two proctoring tools integrated in blackboard:
Respondus: It locks the browser, students can only access the exam on Blackboard. (Recommended for closed book exams)
Smowl: It doesn't lock the browser but records in a report which applications or websites the student opens during the exam. (Recommended in exams with limited access to certain applications e.g. Excel)
As a proctoring tool, the use of Smowl is more advisable
To prevent cheating during exams, it's crucial that all students have installed the two proctoring tools available on Blackboard, so they can be used if necessary.
