In order to increase student participation in the course surveys, we have incorporated some mechanisms which will anticipate the publication of the final grades for students who fill out the surveys, compared to their peers who did not submit them.
To activate these mechanisms we need your collaboration. The procedure is different depending on whether you are teaching a master's or undergraduate course. Please read the following instructions carefully and follow them.
MASTER
You should enter your grades as you usually do without any changes. The grading platform has already been programmed to show each student's grade in advance or not, as appropriate.
UNDERGRADUATE
An ad-hoc application called "Early Grades" has been developed to manage the publication of the final grades uploaded to the overall grade in blackboard gradebook. For it to work properly it is very important that you follow the steps below:
INSTALL EARLYGRADES IN YOUR COURSE. Steps
GO INSIDE YOUR COURSE
1.Click the + plus icon in the Course Content area.
2.Select Content Market
INSIDE Content Market
1. Find the EarlyGrades tool
2. Click the plus sign to include the tool in your Course Content
FROM COURSE CONTENT
Make the EarlyGrades tool visible to students
2 HIDE THE OVERALL GRADE (CALIFICACIÓN GLOBAL) IN BB ULTRA GRADEBOOK (LIBRO DE CALIFICACIONES)
After your last session, you can already include the final grades of your course in the Overall Grade column located in BB Ultra gradebook. It is very important that you HIDE this column from students (deactivate the “Show to students” option which is activated by default). The following video explains how to do this
Within 14 calendar days after your last session, the final grades must be entered into the overall grade.
After these 14 days, the grades will automatically transfer to the Early Grades module, where students who have completed the survey will see their results on the same day, and 7 calendar days later, the rest of the students.
IMPORTANT: Professors whose last session is scheduled between December 7 and December 19 (both inclusive) will have 14 calendar days plus 19 additional days for the non-teaching Christmas period.
Remember that you should organize the review session with the students 48 hours once the total 21 days Early Grades process has passed, or the total 40 days in the case of the last sessions scheduled between December 7 and 19.
Finally, after the review session, the last step is to upload and sign the Grade Report (“Actas”).
Thank you very much for your collaboration
