Recruitment
YPC brings new Bigs and Littles into BBBS’s mentorship ecosystem by informing NYC communities about BBBS’s mentorship programs at outreach events, generating interest within personal and professional networks, expanding social media presence, and executing targeted outreach campaigns
How to get involved
Community Outreach
Attend community outreach events to discover and engage with potential Bigs and the families of Littles. Speak with them about BBBS’s various mentorship programs (Community-Based Program, College & Career Success Program, and Workplace Mentorship Program) and bring new members into the ecosystem
Volunteer Information Sessions
Join BBBS-led information sessions to share your experience as a current Big, former Big or YPC member with the mentor candidates. Personal testimonials are crucial in engaging new mentors and encouraging them to move forward in the process of becoming a Big. Additionally, encourage people to join YPC and support BBBS in furthering its mission of empowering the youth of NYC
Phone-a-Thons
Participate in monthly outreach to individuals who have applied to become a Big. Educate them on the next steps in the process to expedite their admission and onboarding. Improve conversion of interested individuals to committed Bigs, thereby increasing the pool of Bigs available to be matched with Littles on the waitlist
